The Fire and Rescue Department has deployed detection teams to carry out air, water and soil samples near Sungai Kim Kim to check the level of chemical pollution in Pasir Gudang.

Johor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Yahya Madis told The Star that the teams' focus is to safeguard residents and personnel on duty.

The chemical spill, which began on March 7, is now under control as various government agencies have been mobilised to the affected areas to address the issue and provide the best treatment to the victims involved.
