Deputy Home Minister: Sosma amendments will only be made after careful scrutiny

Deputy Home Minister Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman told reporters on Tuesday that the ministry is in the process of carrying out a detailed study on the draconian aspects of the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) that may be considered extreme.

He also noted that it would be very worrying if lawmakers got embroiled in polemics over the use of Sosma with regard to police investigations into alleged links of certain individuals with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
