Defamatory words damaged my reputation as MP, minister, says Fahmi

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil told the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Tuesday (April 7) that defamatory statements made by independent preacher Ahmad Dusuki Abdul Rani had tarnished his reputation as a Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister.

Fahmi said the statements had falsely portrayed him in a negative light and led to further accusations from the public based on the claim, which he described as untrue.

He said the allegations had undermined his credibility as both a public figure and a public servant elected to serve the people.
