Decriminalise drug addiction, Syed Saddiq urges govt

Drug addiction should be decriminalised because it involves mainly first-time offenders who are youths, says former Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

Syed Saddiq, who is also Muar MP, told the Dewan Rakyat that by punishing drug users, their future would be adversely affected due to a permanent criminal record.
