Covid-19: Malaysia’s death rate among the lowest in the world

With the Covid-19 fatality rate of just 1.58%, Health Ministry director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that Malaysia’s death rate from the disease was among the lowest in the world.

At a press conference on Thursday, he said that other countries such as Italy and the United Kingdom had fatality rates of over 10%.

Malaysia’s recovery rate of 38% is also higher than the global average of around 21.7%.
