Covid-19: Health Ministry bracing for uptrend of cases

Health authorities are stepping up efforts to detect Covid-19 cases and are bracing for an uptrend in the number of positive cases in the days ahead, says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham.

The Health director-general said that on Saturday following a record high number of Covid-19 cases in two consecutive days recorded in Malaysia, adding that the ministry is more prepared this time in terms of equipment and experience of treating COVID-19 patients compared to the spread of the pandemic which began in March.

Dr Noor Hisham also said positive COVID-19 cases involving the Benteng cluster in Sabah and the Tembok cluster in Kedah are under control as most of their cases are confined in prison and detention centre.
