Covid-19: Daily cases expected to keep rising, says deputy Health D-G

The daily Covid-19 cases are expected to continue to rise before the country’s vaccination rate achieves 80 per cent by the end of the October, as new variants such as the Delta variant contributed to the rise in new infections, said Datuk Dr Hishamshah Mohd Ibrahim.

The deputy Health director-general (Research and Technical Support) said that on Friday (Aug 6), adding however that with higher vaccination rate at hotspots which are experiencing rising transmissions such as the Klang Valley, the number of cases is expected to drop.
