Cops take statements from 13 involved in pro-Palestine rally

A group of organisers of the "Aksi Bertindak: Kepung Demi Palestin" say they will mobilise another gathering next month.

When met outside the Wangsa Maju police headquarters on Friday (Jan 5), former Batu MP Tian Chua said the group was doing so to shed light on what the Palestinians are going through with the constant attacks on Gaza, and regarding the statement-taking process, he said they were willing to cooperate with the police in their investigations as they were only conducting a peaceful gathering and were confident that no laws were broken.

Meanwhile, Lawyers for Liberty director Zaid Malek said the police must allow lawyers to accompany their clients during the statement-taking process.
