CJ appointed not for her gender, says PM

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Monday expressed that the Chief Justice of Malaysia, Datuk Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, was chosen based on her ability and not gender or race.

He added that anyone who had the right qualifications would be appointed.
