Chinese delegation visit followed strict SOP, says Ismail Sabri

The Chinese delegation visit led by its Defence Minister Wei Fenghe recently, was done with strict standard operating procedure (SOP) set by the Health Ministry, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).

The Defence Minister said that on Thursday when asked if the visit had violated the government’s policy of not allowing foreigners to enter the country.

Ismail Sabri said the government had made it clear that the restriction does not apply to government-to-government and diplomatic relations and in this case, the visit was to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The minister also said that the Health Ministry had advised to keep the visit low-key to avoid it being a crowded affair.
