Cabinet to decide on ECRL alignment, says transport minister

Reducing the scale of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project does not mean there will be effective cost savings, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He said the “cost savings” from reducing the scale of the ECRL project could not be fairly compared with cost savings from maintaining the scale of the project at lower costs.

Dr Wee, who also visited Port Klang on Thursday, told the press that the port authority had put in place a slew of financial incentives to help players in the shipping and logistic sector recover from the Covid-19 outbreak.
