Cabinet agrees to proposal to amend Education Act 1996

The Cabinet on Wednesday agreed with the six recommendations proposed by the Tahfiz Schools Special Task Force, to amend the Education Act 1996 (Act 550), following the fire incident at the Tahfiz school on September 14th.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said this after handing over RM2,000 cash aid to the families of the fire victims.

The tragedy claimed the lives of 21 students and two teachers.
