Budget 2027: Personal relief raised for first time since 2010, says Amir Hamzah

Some 5.16 million taxpayers will benefit from higher personal tax relief under Budget 2027, with the limit raised to RM12,000 from RM9,000 for the first time since 2010, says Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

Speaking after the tabling of Budget 2027 on Friday (Oct 9), Amir Hamzah emphasised that the budget also cuts the resident individual income tax rate by one percentage point.
