Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that under Budget 2026, the Higher Education Ministry will receive an allocation of RM18.6 billion.

Of this, RM400 million will be used to maintain infrastructure and replace outdated equipment at public universities, polytechnics, and community colleges.
