Bill to limit PM's tenure to be tabled again in June, says Fahmi

The Bill to cap the Prime Minister’s tenure at 10 years will be tabled in the next parliamentary sitting from June 22 to July 16, announced Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
He clarified that the Bill is not intended to allow Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to serve a decade automatically, responding to Opposition misunderstandings.
On absent MPs from previous votes, Fahmi said the Prime Minister has not yet decided whether to take action, noting that two of the eight MPs who missed the vote have formally explained their absence.
