Base MHIT plan to cover controlled pre-existing conditions, says Dr Dzul

Persons with pre-existing health conditions including mental health issues, will be eligible for the affordable base medical and health insurance/takaful (MHIT) plan, but are subject to certain terms, says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
He explained on Sunday (Feb 8) that the plan will adopt a “no look-back” approach, providing a fair and transparent method to assess pre-existing conditions while keeping premiums affordable.
Dzulkefly added that the framework is being refined ahead of a pilot launch later this year.
