Bamboo cannons lend festive air to GE14 campaign

Youths in Kampung Sungai Bedil Besar set off bamboo cannons to lend a festive air to the election campaign in Petra Jaya, Kuching. A traditional pastime in the village, the cannons are usually fired during the fasting month or for celebrations. They are about 20cm in diameter and 2m long and fired using kerosene to produce a loud explosion.
