At least 10 people were killed and dozens injured when stored fireworks exploded during an evening mass in the Mexican community of Santa Maria Canchesda on Saturday (Sept 5).

The blast occurred in the church atrium where residents had gathered to celebrate the eve of their patron saint festival.
