Army Chief placed on leave amid ongoing MACC investigation

Chief of Army Jen Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan has been placed on leave with immediate effect to facilitate investigations into allegations linked to military procurement projects.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has begun preliminary probes, including recording statements and visiting the Defence Ministry, while Navy Chief Admiral Tan Sri Zulhelmy Ithnain has been appointed Acting Armed Forces Chief.
