Anwar says no issues if key appointments referred to -partisan select committee

Tan Sri Azam Baki was appointed as Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief due to his capabilities and independence hence there is no need to replace him, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In replying to a question by Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin (PN-Masjid Tanah) on Tuesday (March 28), the Prime Minister acknowledged that Azam had been appointed during the tenure of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin but said he had also decided to retain Azam due to the fact that MACC was an independent body.
