Anwar orders fast-tracking of UM student residential project

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed government agencies to fast-track Universiti Malaya’s student residential project, which is targeted for completion from 2030, pledging to personally monitor its progress.

Speaking at the project’s launch on Thursday (Oct 15), Anwar said he would raise the matter at Friday’s Cabinet meeting and direct the Finance Ministry, Higher Education Ministry and Kuala Lumpur City Hall to expedite approvals without compromising quality, transparency or accountability.
