Animal rescuer will wake up from surgery to eviction notice

Animal rescuer Halijah Idris who is currently undergoing surgery to remove her ovary due to stage four ovarian cancer, now face a double blow after she was ordered to to vacate her animal shelter.

Halijah and her late husband, fondly known as Pak Mie, has been rescuing dogs and cats since the 1990s.

The shelter currently houses 380 dogs and 180 cats.
