A grand start to Thaipusam celebration in KL

The silver chariot carrying the Lord Murugan deity kicked off the annual Thaipusam celebration on Friday (Feb 3) night.

The chariot procession left at 10pm from the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Jln Tun HS Lee, Kuala Lumpur and is expected to reach Batu Caves at 3pm on Saturday (Feb 4).

1.6 million people are expected to join in the celebration.
