The Straits Times | S'pore incurred S$270m for terminated HSR project

The Straits Times' Royston Sim gives his take on the termination of the high-speed rail project between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Singaporean Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung said in Parliament on Monday that Singapore could not accept Malaysia's proposal to remove the systems supplier and network operator of the project as it constituted a "fundamental departure" from the original agreement.

He also said Singapore had incurred a loss of S$270mil from the termination of the project.
