451 foreigners arrested for social visit pass abuse as of July 15, says Immigration DG

A nationwide crackdown on the misuse of social visit passes has resulted in the arrest of 451 foreigners as of July 15, says Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban.

Speaking after attending the 104th Immigration Day celebration on Tuesday (July 21), Zakaria said the Immigration Department had conducted 7,105 enforcement operations this year, leading to the detention of 41,596 foreigners for various immigration offences.
