378 summonses issued, 90 motorcycles seized in KL New Year traffic ops

A total of 378 summonses were issued and 90 motorcycles seized during a New Year’s Day traffic operation by the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT).

Kuala Lumpur JSPT chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said about 800 motorcycles were inspected, mostly ridden by 15- to 19-year-olds.

The main offences included riding without a valid licence, expired road tax, and illegal vehicle modifications, including non-compliant exhaust systems and faulty brakes.
