Residents living in Dolton and Chicago celebrate Robert Prevost's rise to papacy, saying that it's cool to know that the new pope used to live in their neighbourhood.
The 69-year-old Pope Leo XIV became the first American to lead the Catholic Church, following the death of Pope Francis. A Chicago native with dual Peruvian citizenship, Prevost studied theology in the US before decades of work abroad.
