France-Indonesia pact could lead to new Rafale jet orders, says Macron

France and Indonesia on Wednesday (May 28) signed a preliminary defence pact that could lead to new orders of military equipment from Paris, including Rafale fighter jets and Scorpene submarines.

French President Emmanuel Macron and his Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto witnessed the signing ceremony.

Macron and his wife Brigitte, who were filmed in a viral video that showed her shoving his face in Vietnam, continued their trip in Jakarta before heading to Singapore on Thursday.
