All Malaysians to leave Iran by June 20, says Fahmi

The government is assisting Malaysians currently in Iran to return home by Friday, according to Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Speaking at a post-Cabinet press conference on Wednesday (June 18), Fahmi said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had informed the Cabinet that only a small number of Malaysians remain in the country, comprising those working at embassies, pursuing studies or travelling.

When asked whether evacuation teams would be deployed, Fahmi confirmed that preparations had been made but declined to reveal further details for security reasons.
