The national agricultural census will be conducted every 10 years to ensure that baseline data remains relevant to current needs and future challenges, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

Speaking at the launch of the 2024 Agricultural Census Interim Report on Thursday (May 29), Fadillah said periodic short-term agricultural surveys will also be introduced starting in 2026 to improve data availability and enable continuous monitoring of the sector.

Fadillah, who also serves as Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister, stressed the importance of rejuvenating the agricultural sector by encouraging youth participation, adding that strategic efforts must be mobilised comprehensively to ensure the sector's long-term sustainability.
