WHO classifies new Covid-19 strain as variant of concern, names it Omicron

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has classified the new Covid-19 variant known as B.1.1.529 as a variant of concern. They also named it the "Omicron” during an emergency meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland on Nov 26.
