On Feb 6, Singapore detected its first case of likely Covid-19 reinfection. The patient is a 28-year-old male Bangladeshi national who holds a work permit and resides in a dormitory.

Senior infectious diseases consultant Dale Fisher from the National University Hospital told The Straits Times that people who have recovered from Covid-19 can get reinfected with the virus, as immunity wanes with time, even if they will likely be protected for a time.
