Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Thursday slammed what he says are Barisan Nasional’s dirty tricks in the lead up to the Tanjung Piai by-election.

The Bersatu chairman however expressed confidence in the voters, saying they are smart and will not fall for such tricks.

Dr Mahathir was met by reporters after having breakfast with some 200 people at Warung 800 in Pekan Nanas.

The premier, who rarely campaigns in by-elections, spent two days in the constituency in a bid to keep Pakatan Harapan’s hopes alive following reports that the coalition is trailing behind the Opposition.
