Penang loses two iconic food haunts in matter of days

The famous Teochew porridge served both at a stall in Magazine Road and a shop in Muntri Street in George Town, Penang has gone.

The operator of the “squatting” porridge stall in Magazine Road is looking for people to rent out the place while the owner of Tai Buan Porridge shop in Muntri Street wants to rest at home after being in the business for over 60 years.

However, the Tai Buan Porridge operator did not dismiss the possibility of making a return after adequate rest.
