Ghassan Younis' presence at al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem surrounded by the felines and birds has been a common scene for worshipers and visitors flocking to the site everyday.

His love for animals has encouraged the Jerusalemite community to call him "Abu Hurayra" or the father of kittens in Arabic, naming him after one of Prophet Muhammad's companions who was popular for his love for cats.
