In a post-budget press conference at Parliament on Saturday, Finance Minister criticised former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who has been urging the government to release papers of Abu Dhabi’s International Petroleum Investment Company’s (IPIC) dealings with 1MDB.

The Finance Minister said Najib should have revealed it when he was in the government and not while the case is being charged in court.

Lim also said the US Justice Department's (DoJ) indictments against fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, also known as Jho Low and bankers Roger Ng and Tim Leissner for conspiring to launder money and violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in relation to 1MDB, and that Leissner pleaded guilty to the charges proved that the scandal indeed happened.

Lim also said according to the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Jho Low is currently not in China.
