King of Hades effigy on display ahead of Hungry Ghost Festival

Self-taught craftsman Gan Kheng Leong took two weeks to build a 10m-tall effigy of Tai Su Yeah or King of Hades for the upcoming Hungry Ghost Festival. The effigy is now placed at the Pertubuhan Penganut Tow Boo Keong Mergong in Alor Setar, Kedah where devotees can perform prayers for 10 days until Aug 12.
