The ventilator that caught fire earlier on Friday at Hospital Queen Elizabeth II in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah was a new machine procured this year during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, said Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The Health director-general said that when asked if the cause of fire was related to claims that many ventilators used in the country’s hospitals are worn out, adding that he has yet to receive the full report on the incident.
