Fire and Rescue Services Department deputy director-general Datuk Soiman Jahid on Tuesday said initial investigations revealed that flammable cladding outside the EPF building caused the blaze, sparked by by maintenance work to spread rapidly and engulf the exterior. He said it was similar to the Grenfell Tower fire in London that killed 71 people last June.
