Covid-19: Beijing says it has achieved heroic feat in mankind history

The Chinese government on Tuesday held an important ceremony in Beijing to recognise the country’s heroes and heroines in the fight of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Medal of the Republic was conferred on renowned respiratory disease expert Zhong Nanshan while Zhang Boli, Zhang Dingyu and Chen Wei received the national honorary title of the “People’s Hero” for their contributions.

In his speech, Chinese President Xi Jinping said China had come out as the winner in the pandemic, adding that they had achieved another heroic feat in the history of mankind's battle against diseases.
