Ayob Khan: No bail offered for Sosma detainees to prevent possible attacks

In an interview with Sinar Harian on Thursday, Bukit Aman Special Branch Counter Terrorism Division (E8) head Deputy Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said no bail is offered for those detained under the Security Offenses (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA) is to prevent them from launching a 'strike' if released.

Civil society groups and some MPs have been calling for a total repeal of the Sosma, which allows indefinite detention without trial.
