Possibility of allowing marijuana for medical purposes being studied, says Home Minister

The use of medical hemp and marijuana in Malaysia is being deliberated by several ministries and the Cabinet Committee to Combat Drugs, says Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
The Home Minister said that in Parliament on Tuesday when responding to Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (Independent-Muar), who asked whether the present Cabinet would consider allowing parents to use medical cannabis to treat their sick children, adding that the special Cabinet committee is currently looking into the possibility of allowing cannabis for medical purposes and its relevant laws.
