Opposition MPs raise concern over Finas licence for content creators

Opposition MPs have raised their concerns over the development of content creators in Malaysia after the government said that such creators would be required to apply for filming licence from the National Film Development Corporation (Finas).
Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said he was disturbed by Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah’s statement earlier in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday that all film productions, whether from media outlets or personal media on traditional platforms or even social media, would require a licence for filming.
