The Health Ministry has identified another construction site in Kuala Lumpur as a new cluster for the spread of Covid-19.
When asked whether the spike of cases at construction sites indicated that companies failed to comply with the standard operating procedure, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the companies in general may have only focused on the workers’ workplace condition rather than their living condition, which is equally important.
He said there is a high possibility that the workers are living in a confined space, and this has made the spread of the virus easier.
