'Impact of waste traps on marine life must be studied'

Waste traps cannot be placed at sea to collect rubbish near island resorts if they can have a negative impact on marine life.
State tourism, environment, heritage and culture committee chairman K. Raven Kumar said the state would have to study the matter carefully before using marine waste traps at the tourist attractions.
These were some of the options the Johor government was looking into as part of the long-term solution to curb the issue of rubbish in the ocean.
