Home Minister: Over 2.5 million passports issued last year

The Immigration Department had issued more than 2.5 million international passports in 2022, a 25% increase compared with 2 million issued in 2019.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the increase shows that Malaysians were eager to travel after two years of lockdown.
He was speaking after he officially opened the department’s passport issuing centre at KLIA Long Term Parking Terminal on Thursday.
