A tradition in which young people pour water over the hands of elderly folk is held throughout Thailand as part of a run-up to the upcoming Songkran celebrations.
One such event in Chonburi saw members of a local administrative body inviting senior citizens from local homes in the province for the ritual.
Participants also poured water on the hands of monks and supplied them with offerings.
Songkran is a traditional New Year festival in the kingdom which sees water fights occurring throughout Thailand. Travelling long distance by road is deemed risky due to the public habitually drinking and driving.
