Highly anticipated silk and music festival kicks off

A highly anticipated silk and music festival in Kalasin, Thailand kicked off on Feb 26, to the delight of local residents.
The event, which ends on March 7, saw many foreign visitors present as well.
The festival features an indigenous theme and saw performances and music that is popular with residents in Thailand’s northeastern region.
Meanwhile, the silk festival showed off the kingdom’s highly sought after fabric, which is produced locally and fetches high prices.
Visitors to the festival can purchase these fabrics and pay their respects to an ancient Buddha image that was placed at the event temporarily from a temple.
