A farmer in Phitsanulok, Thailand who grows vegetables in his garden for his personal consumption decided to grow pineapples as well and is reaping the benefits.
The 70-year-old bought 100 pineapple plants and grew them at home.
They began producing fruits after one year.
He first sold them among friends and acquaintances before his daughter started selling them on social media.
It proved to be a successful venture as the demand for his pineapples has surpassed his supply.
He sells the fruit for Bt60 to 90 baht (US$1.75 to US$2.60) per kilogramme.
