A group of 25 scuba divers who dove off Trang in Thailand collected a whopping 162 kilogrammes of trash in the sea.
These include glass bottles, styrofoam and plastic bags.
Ironically, it wasn’t the large amount of trash that surprised the divers but the size of a whale shark that swam close to them, measuring at about five to six metres long.
To the divers, this was an indication that marine wildlife can still thrive despite the trash in the sea.
